My Notes

To my Sponsors

Hi everyone…Sorry again for the amazingly long time between posts. Again very unacceptable of me but I had no way of posting updates for a time due to Internet and computer troubles…However, I am back up and running for a new season of swimming. Ready to give you an in-depth view into what’s new and exciting in swimming this year.

My summer for swimming was rather amazing and I swam pretty well. The team traveled to Montreal for Age Group Nationals as well as San Jose for Far Westerns, which is the American version of Age groups. These meets were highly competitive and I really had to step up my game. I ended up going a few best times at each meet although there were lots of things that could have been done much better in preparation for both competitions.

This year was one of the first where I got a reasonable break from swimming…Most of the time I get maybe 2 weeks and then we’re right back in the water doing light to moderate swimming all of the end of August and into September. This year I was finished and done August 3rd and had a break all the way till Labor day. To say that I was only happy would be a gross understatement. I planed out a road trip and traveled to Edmonton to visit some friends and along the way camped in Jasper AB for 3 days and then stayed in Edmonton for 4 days and then headed home. All in all it was very relaxing and the drive was amazing.

Also This summer I finally accomplished my goal of becoming a certified Lifeguard as well as a certified Water Safety Instructor. I was doing courses for three weeks straight but it certainly paid off for me as I now have an amazing job waiting for me. Unfortunately the pool that I was hoping to work for had just done their hiring so now I have to wait a few more months before they will even consider my resume. Oh well, I’m looking forward to working at a pool so I can spend literally all my time around the water. (If anyone wants private swimming lessons for their kids you know who to get in touch with. (hint hint nudge nudge))

This year I hope to get my senior national cut time, which would enable me to go to Olympic trials and those sorts of meets. Wish me luck on the quest for that magical swim.

I will be sure to let you know how the meets are going…that is when I know exactly what competitions I’m going too.

Cheers
Thomas
